Dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Morris County history, the Morris County Historical Society was incorporated in 1946 and has operated Acorn Hall (1853) as a house museum since 1971. Now one of the leading historical societies in NJ, MCHS ever-expanding collection and archive of Morris County history serves as the basis for our changing exhibits, programs, and highly regarded social media initiatives. MCHS offers tours of Acorn Hall, which has long been recognized as one of the most authentic house museums in the state.
