F Gerald New founded his jewelry store in 1941 in East Orange NJ after a 20 year career on New York's 5th avenue with Black Starr and Frost. In 1970 he moved the business to Chatham's Main Street. His son-in-law and daughter, Edward and Jeanne Jaeckle, then joined him in running the business. Today, Gerald New's granddaughter and her husband Catherine and Paul Norbury run the Chatham store. At F Gerald New, we offer fine jewelry and giftware including SIMON PEARCE GLASS and antique silver from London. Our second location is in Harding Township and opened in 1980.

"I was visiting the area and stopped by. This is an absolutely beautiful store filled with beautiful things! I'm glad I don't live near it because I'd definitely be broke. I purchased a few Anne Marie Murray trinket dishes which make great gifts. They wrapped them so beautifully making these gifts even more special! They also have a great selection of Simon Pearce glass. And beautiful jewelry selections! It's a great place to buy gifts!" - Liz B. [via Yelp]
"Good stuff, I have been coming here on and off for about 10 years. They are always pretty helpful, my wife can be difficult to shop for so the options between gifts and jewelry helps. The jewelry options seem to be pretty varied, they have the more serious and the stuff the big guy that works there refers to as "Fun", under $250ish. Good wedging gift options too, etched barware on the cheaper side and the Simon Peace handmade stuff from Vermont. Wrapping and shipping are a bonus. Check out the "Old Silver" options, pretty unique. I certainly never had the bad experience the other person had. Easy peasy.' - Tim K. [via Yelp]
"I grew up shopping here with my parents and I now continue to shop here as an adult. It's a beautiful store filled with fun things you don't see all over the place. They have jewelry and gifts in all price ranges. It's a must see and shop kind of store! They are super helpful, nice and laid back- I'm known to run in after hot yoga - in my sweaty cloths- and they don't care :) (ps if you go in- ask Katherine to see Dewey - the shop dog)" - Jennifer M [via Yelp]
