New Jersey Small Business Development Centers
The New Jersey Small Business Development Centers (NJSBDC) network provides comprehensive assistance to small and medium businesses (SMBs) to maximize opportunities for growth and generate economic impact statewide.
The New Jersey Small Business Development Center was established by Congress in 1978 as one of the first national SBDC pilot projects resulting from the passage of Public Law 96-302. Today, the NJSBDC network is composed of the headquarters located at Rutgers Business School – Newark and New Brunswick, 11 full-service regional centers, and an additional 28 affiliate (or satellite) offices located throughout the state. Regional centers are hosted by and affiliated with two and four-year college and university business programs with a major footprint for comprehensive small business assistance and outreach.
NJSBDC Directors and consultants are paid, proven professionals with graduate-level degrees in business and many years of practical experience with bottom-line responsibility. Working for the NJSBDC is their career of choice which continually challenges them with formulating strategic solutions to client issues.
Division of Taxation, Taxation University
Taxation University is the Division of Taxation’s education and outreach unit. The unit provides tax training for employees on all of the taxes, fees, and property tax relief programs administered by the Division. In addition, we host live tax webinars for the public and collaborate with the IRS, State legislators, the New Jersey Business Action Center, New Jersey State libraries, small business organizations, and tax professionals to provide public resource events, small business workshops, and seminars on all taxes and programs. Taxation University instructors are committed to and passionate about providing timely, accurate, and complete tax information to Division employees and the public so that employees provide complete and accurate tax guidance and the public understands and fulfills their New Jersey tax obligations.
