The Workforce Development Board of Northwest New Jersey (WDBNNJ) has been awarded $1 million through the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s Digital Literacy Training Grant program to expand digital skills training for Work First New Jersey (WFNJ) clients in Morris, Sussex and Warren counties.
WDBNNJ is one of six organizations selected statewide to receive funding from the $6 million Fiscal Year 2026 grant program, which is designed to help WFNJ clients develop digital skills needed to pursue employment and succeed in today’s workforce.
The award marks the second consecutive year WDBNNJ has received funding through the program. Since the program launched in 2025, WDBNNJ has served 76 WFNJ customers through digital literacy training and related employment services. Participants also have received coaching and mentoring, AI certification and training grants to support their transition into employment.
The new $1 million award will support services over an 18-month grant period, running from July 30, 2026, through Jan. 30, 2028.
The other grant recipients are Atlantic Cape Community College, Inspire U, Long Beach Island Community Center, Mercer Med Tech and New Jersey Institute of Technology.
