The Morristown Rotary Club has launched a community-wide initiative to celebrate the United States’ 250th anniversary by combining local history, student creativity and support for small businesses.
The Morristown Rotary 250th Celebration Committee is launching a commemorative apparel fundraiser to benefit local community projects. As part of the effort, students in the Morris School District will participate in a design contest to create original artwork reflecting Morristown’s history, heritage and national pride.
Finalist designs will be featured on a limited-edition line of Morristown 250th apparel, which will be available to the public through an online storefront.
“This initiative is about more than just a milestone anniversary,” said Aaron Oliver, president of the Morristown Rotary Club. “It’s an opportunity to engage our youth, celebrate our history, and raise funds that go directly back into the Morristown community.”
The Rotary Club is also inviting local business owners to participate in its “$250 for the 250th” sponsorship campaign. For a $250 contribution, businesses will receive a “concert-style” listing on the back of the commemorative apparel.
The sponsorship is designed to give businesses community visibility during the 250th celebration while helping fund future community-enrichment projects managed by the Morristown Rotary.
“We want this to be a true community-wide effort,” said incoming Rotary President Will Draper. “Seeing our local businesses standing alongside student art on these shirts will be a powerful testament to the unity of Morristown.”
Business owners interested in being included in the first apparel run should contact the committee by May 18, 2026. Sponsorship forms and additional information are available by emailing morristownrotarynj@gmail.com
