New Jersey is leading the way in transforming its education and workforce development ecosystem through strategic partnerships and targeted training initiatives. The partnership between New Jersey’s community colleges and the New Jersey Business & Industry Association is now in its third year for the unprecedented statewide New Jersey Pathways to Career Opportunities Initiative. With NJ Pathways, the state is setting a national example for fostering collaborations to create a talent pipeline for existing and future career opportunities.

New Jersey’s community colleges have answered the call for an innovative, globally competitive workforce by creating public-private partnerships. In the past year, New Jersey’s community colleges have created two such workforce development partnership organizations:

NJBIOFUTURES

Advancing Biotechnology Talent

NJBioFutures, created under the Center of Workforce Innovation for Aseptic Processing and Biomanufacturing of NJ Pathways, is a partnership dedicated to building a highly skilled workforce for the pharmaceutical and biomanufacturing industries. It unites education, government, industry, and community partners to drive workforce solutions in aseptic processing, biomanufacturing, and beyond. NJBioFutures has:

Strategic Partnerships: Brings together education institutions, industry leaders, and government to develop workforce solutions.

State-of-the-Art Training: Provides cutting-edge facilities and industry-driven curricula focused initially on cell and gene therapeutics technology.

Talent Pipeline Development: Prepares students and workers for high-demand, high salary jobs in the life sciences and biomanufacturing industries.

Innovation Leadership: Positions New Jersey as a leader in life sciences and nurtures an innovation ecosystem.

 

NJ FILM ACADEMY

Developing the Next Generation of Film and Television Production

The New Jersey Film Academy, created under the Center of Workforce Innovation for Film & Television Production of NJ Pathways, is a statewide collaborative effort led by New Jersey’s community colleges. It ensures accessible, high-quality training for aspiring filmmakers, actors, and production professionals. The NJ Film Academy has:

Comprehensive Training: Offers programs covering filmmaking, acting, and production to build a qualified workforce.

Scholarships & Resources: Provides financial aid and support to students through its nonprofit organization.

Industry-Recognized Credentials: Helps students earn industry valued credentials, degrees, and internships for careers in film and television.

Economic Growth & Industry Attraction: Positions New Jersey as a leading hub for film and television production, attracting major studios and content creators.
