BusinessSignificant Developments in NJ’s Cybersecurity Industry

Two Garden State companies revealed partnerships with global cybersecurity leader CrowdStrike in January.

Teaneck-based Cognizant said the strategic collaboration will drive enterprise security transformation by delivering cybersecurity services – powered by the AI-native CrowdStrike Falcon cybersecurity platform.

Leveraging Falcon products, Cognizant will work to enable organizations to streamline security operations and threat mitigation, consolidate fragmented legacy point products, reduce the complexity of managing cybersecurity programs and strengthen cybersecurity posture.

“Cognizant is committed to staying at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation,” said CEO Ravi Kumar S. “As the enterprise digital landscape evolves, it is crucial to leverage AI for cybersecurity and cloud-native security technologies to help stay ahead of threats and ensure the resilience of our clients’ infrastructure.”

As organizations continue to adopt different cloud services, such as IaaS, SaaS, PaaS and CaaS, it can expose them to a wider range of threats. And as the field advances, and the cybersecurity skills gap widens, Cognizant said it is important for businesses to consolidate pain points, as well as evolve operations, to simplify cybersecurity environments.

Over the past year, cloud exploitation cases have surged by 110%, while the speed and sophistication of cyberattacks continue to accelerate, with breakout times now measured in minutes, Cognizant said citing CrowdStrike data.

“Our partnership with Cognizant delivers cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions that tackle the evolving challenges enterprises face today and tomorrow,” said George Kurtz, CEO and founder, CrowdStrike. “CrowdStrike’s AI-native Falcon platform with Cognizant’s extensive expertise in technology transformation offers customers best-in-class protection, performance, and efficiency. Together, we will drive positive customer outcomes and enhance the security posture of organizations globally.”

Commvault

Cyber resilience and data protection solutions provider Commvault will also employ CrowdStrike’s Falcon cybersecurity platform.

According to Tinton Falls-based Commvault, the nexus will deliver layered threat detection as well as fast data recovery for joint customers.

The integrated solution from Commvault and CrowdStrike leverages real-time threat intelligence from the Falcon platform with Commvault Cloud’s cloud-first cyber resilience capabilities.

Commvault says the collaboration underscores its commitment to proactively addressing the needs of modern enterprises as well as delivering solutions that enhance both cyber resilience and business continuity.

“The average organization has seen eight cyber incidents in the last year, four of which are considered major. At Commvault, we are committed to empowering businesses with the tools they need to not only safeguard their data but to enhance their overall cyber resilience,” commented Alan Atkinson, chief partner officer, Commvault. “By partnering with CrowdStrike, we are combining our deep expertise in cyber resilience with their advanced threat detection capabilities, empowering our joint customers with faster response times and a stronger cyber resilience posture.”

When CrowdStrike detects and prevents malicious activity or a suspicious event, administrators can view the alert in Commvault Cloud, run a program to check for threats and quickly restore affected data to a previous, known-good state, Commvault explained.
