Every March, we celebrate National Agriculture Week (including National Ag Day), which is organized by the Agriculture Council of America (ACA). The ACA is an organization uniquely composed of leaders in the agriculture, food and fiber communities dedicated to increasing the public awareness of agriculture’s vital role in our society. The Agriculture Council of America and the National Ag Day program was started in 1973.

The weeklong celebration recognizes the work and contributions of our nation’s farmers, ranchers, and a wide range of agricultural workers, as well as to shine a light on the critical importance of a thriving agricultural industry.

“Our lives depend on our farmers, ranchers, agricultural workers and fishermen, yet we live in a culture that takes for granted the shelves at the store will always be stocked with a bounty of food. Imagine how challenging life would be if we all had to grow and catch our meals? Our country’s agricultural workers deserve much more than appreciation– they deserve active support to ensure they have the resources and tools needed to provide sustenance.  Plus, they are among the most intelligent, capable and resourceful people in our nation,” said Morris County Commissioner Director Myers.
