National Veterans Small Business Week
The tenth annual National Veterans Small Business Week will be celebrated from October 30th through November 3rd. This year’s theme is “10 Years of Celebrating America’s #VetBiz and #MilSpouse Business Owners”. National Veterans Small Business Week honors the long-standing contributions of veteran and military-owned businesses to our nation’s economy.
Nearly one in ten small businesses across the United States are veteran owned. Veteran and military spouse small business owners are disciplined, resilient, and committed to serving our communities. They employ more than 5 million Americans and generate $1.3 trillion in total sales.
Entrepreneurial transitioning service members can access resources through the Transition Assistance Program, while veterans also have access to no-cost trainingthat the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) designed to help small business owners start, expand, or recover their businesses.
If you are interested in hiring veterans for your veteran-owned small business, reach out to a VETS regional veteran employment coordinator for assistance.
